Project 89 - First place ribbon for the medium size entries in The Fantasy of Trees 2008 - 'There's No Business Like Snow Business!'

I made 2 tones of gingerbread cookie dough.

You can see the lighter dough on the sign face, the front door, and the round window in the back.

The windows are created with a glass sugar candy recipe.

The curved window in the back was made by shaping the dough and glass candy around a mug.

The large trees are from cutting green licorice into little pieces.

Caramel cubes were cut to make the corner bricks.

The roof top (and sign top) was made by pieces of trisket crackers.

The walkway is the Light Oreo Snack Crackers.

Pretzels give detail to the windows.

Big Red gum makes the bows.

Jelly candies are in the side windows - cut in the shapes that you see.

Coconut snow and marshmallow bushes with icing.

And those round, yummy sticks of swirled chocolate finish the sign.

Icing makes up the rest.

The base is 18"x18". I am proud of this design - I worked with gingerbread and candy for weeks to get to this one.  I documented the progress and the mistakes(also progress).  This was house number 3.  I took off work just to produce this before the show.  I would LOVE to make another one - and I think I shall!

‘Stack Up Shelf’  .   environmental project

The basis of this poject was to create a product that was harmless to the environment.  This is made only with reused cardbord boxes and standard white project glue.  Instructions were drawn up so that anyone with some craftiness could create these shelf units on their own.  The units could then be stacked according to the owner's design preference.

This was displayed at Montreal’s Annual ‘SIDIM’ (Salon International du Design d'Interieur de Montreal) at Place Bonaventure.

Project 58
First attempt at refurbishing a chair that almost did not make it.  The seat was completely broken in three pieces and the front board missing.  Hand glued, hand painted, hand sewn. 2005

Project for school - Tension cables.

The instructions for this project was to use 9 ping pong ball size plaster balls (weights) and cardstock and thread on a 16 x 16 inch wood base.  The weights had to hang higher than 6 inches from the base.  I made these cardstock shapes (hollow) in such a way, that the weight of the balls and cables hold them up from the base.  Nothing is glued to the base.  It was an awesome project!  2000
